State Agencies

These agency and advocacy groups can help identify people to meet your employment needs and assist with accommodations, if needed. These organizations may contract with employment services to provide more direct support and assistance. ​

Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Indiana Family and Social Services Administration 
Provides individualized services to people with disabilities in order to prepare them for, obtain, or retain employment.

Workforce Development

Indiana Department of Workforce Development
Assists people (with or without disabilities) with employment and training services

The Arc of Indiana

Advocates for people with mental retardation and related disabilities and their families. Local chapters provide advocacy, information, and networks for families of people with developmental disabilities. Many chapters provide direct services, including residential services, independent living support services, employment services, and others.

Assistive Technology for Hoosiers with Disabilities
INDATA is one of 56 similar federally-funded projects designed to increase awareness and access to assistive technology.

Center for Disability Information and Referral

Indiana Institute on Disability and Community
Provides statewide referral service to people with disabilities, their families, and professionals. CeDIR has a lending library of books, videos, and kits that circulates to any resident of Indiana. 

Division of Disability, Aging, and Rehabilitation Services

Indiana Family and Social Services Administration
Assists eligible people with disabilities and older people through in-home services, supported employment, independent living, deaf/hard-of-hearing services, social security disability eligibility, and more.

Governor's Council for People with Disabilities

Promotes public policy which leads to the independence and inclusion of people with disabilities. Receives and disseminates federal funds to support programs that empower individuals and families and advocate systems change.

Indiana Civil Rights Commission 

Enforces Indiana civil rights laws, prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing, education, public accommodation, and credit. This includes Fair Housing and many ADA provisions.

Provides free legal assistance to eligible low-income people in civil matters. Legal services information is organized by county.
